When you are ready to make payment for your items you will be transferred to the Protx payment gateway. Once you are here you will see a padlock at the bottom of your browser meaning that any data entered here will be encrypted.
All information entered on the Protx pages will be encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates. No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted and any messages sent back to our servers from Protx are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering.
You can be completely secure in the knowledge that nothing you pass to the Protx servers can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.
We use 3D Secure
3D Secure is the technology behind Verified by Visa (VbV) and MasterCard SecureCode (MSC), the latest fraud prevention initiatives launched by the card schemes as a more secure method for authenticating the cardholder at the time of the transaction. The scheme is set up as an online alternative to Chip and PIN, where the customer is required to enter a unique password chosen by the shopper before the transaction process can be completed.
Once on protx systems, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards used by, among others, the US Government. The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign's Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract. The data we hold is extremely secure and we are regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure it remains so.
