Make your tree stand out this Christmas with custom-created fillable baubles. These fun and simple makes are a great way to kick off your Christmas crafting.

Create something special for your home and match your hand-made baubles to your Christmas style or share the love and send as a thoughtful gift to friends and family.

There are so many different ways you can personalise these baubles. Add tinsel, sequins, photographs, sweets – it’s up to you!

But, if you’re looking for a little bit of inspiration to get you started, here are five ways to use your fillable baubles to create your own unique Christmas decorations.

Difficulty: Easy

Time to Create: 10 minutes per bauble

Here's What We Used:

Fillable Baubles

Hot Chocolate of your choice

Mini Marshmallows

Sprinkles

Pine Cones

Feathers

Eucalyptus Spray

"Merry Christmas" Ribbon

Hot Chocolate Bauble

Who doesn’t love to snuggle up with a mug of hot chocolate on a cold winter evening? Create the perfect indulgent treat with a homemade hot chocolate bauble.

You will need:

1 x Plastic Hanging Baubles 8cm

1 x Bag of Mini Marshmallows 200g

1 x Pack of Sprinkles

1 x Hot Chocolate of your choice

1 x Roll of Ribbon or String

How to Make

1. Open up your fillable bauble so you have two halves. For adding your hot chocolate to your bauble, you can either:

  • Spoon the hot chocolate directly into one half of the bauble.
  • Or, use a small plastic bag and spoon the hot chocolate into the bag. Make sure to seal your bag with some cellotape so no hot chocolate escapes!

2. If you’re using a plastic bag to hold your hot chocolate, place your little pouch of hot chocolate into one half of the fillable bauble.

3. Using all of your willpower, add in your mini marshmallows (without eating them all!) to the empty half of your bauble.

4. On top of the layer of marshmallows, add a layer of sprinkles.

5. Carefully connect the two halves of the plastic bauble together.

6. Once the bauble is closed you will be able to see a small pre-punched hole at the top. Thread your ribbon or string through this hole and tie a small knot to create a loop.

7. Hang your bauble from your tree, send as a gift, or sit back, relax and enjoy!

Woodland Bauble

This delicate handmade bauble is inspired by a Christmas woodland scene. We're thinking evergreen stems, pine cones, natural materials and rustic finishes. Perfect for bringing a little of the outside in.

You will need:

1 x Plastic Hanging Baubles 8cm

1 x Glitter Cone Bunch Natural & White

1 x 180cm Pine Garland with Glitter

1 x Roll of Ribbon or String

How to Make

1.  Take your wire cutters and cut your Christmas foliage of choice into roughly 3 inch pieces.

2.  Again using your wire cutters, cut each of your pine cones from the branch.

3.  Take your pine cones and foliage sections and place them into both halves of your fillable bauble.

4.  Close the bauble shut and finish with ribbon or string for hanging.

Feather Bauble

This simple, yet effective bauble is perfect if you don’t have a lot of time on your hands. Bring a magical winter wonderland or swan lake inspired theme to your Christmas décor with this fluffy decoration.

You will need:

1 x Plastic Hanging Baubles 8cm

1 x Bag of White Feathers (5g)

1 x Roll of Ribbon or String

How to Make

1.     Separate your fillable bauble into two halves.

2.     Take your choice of feathers, we’ve used white however, you can use whatever colour works best with your Christmas theme. Place your feathers into each half of the bauble.

3.     Join the two halves of the bauble together and add either ribbon or string to the pre punched hole at the top to hang.

Botanical Bauble

A botanical Christmas is one of this year’s top trends. Add some stunning eucalyptus foliage combined with a crisp white Christmas word for a fresh, modern take on your Christmas décor this year.

You will need:

1 x Plastic Hanging Baubles 8cm

1 x Sheet of White Paper or Card

1 x 91cm Green Eucalyptus Spray

1 x Roll of Ribbon or String

How to Make

1.     Decide on a festive word you would like to use in your bauble and draw it out on your sheet of white paper or card with a pencil. We find that this works best if you use a thick bubble style font as it makes it easier to cut out in the next step.

2.     With a sharp pair of scissors, carefully cut around your word. Once this is complete, set your word to one side.

3.     Next, take your eucalyptus spray and using wire cutters, trim the eucalyptus into small sprigs.

4.     Take your festive word and making sure that it’s facing the correct way, place against the inside of one of the halves of the fillable bauble. Add a few of your sprigs of eucalyptus on top of the festive word you have just added to the bauble.

5.     Add the rest of your eucalyptus sprigs to the other half of the bauble.

6.     Close the bauble together and add ribbon or string for hanging.

Ribbon Filled Bauble

Another quick and easy bauble that only needs ribbon to create. This ribbon filled bauble is great if you really want to personalise your Christmas decorations. Use a festive ribbon of your choice or you could even add some personalised ribbon with a loved one's name as a unique Christmas stocking filler idea.

You will need:

1 x Plastic Hanging Baubles 8cm

1 x Roll of 15mm "Merry Christmas" Ribbon

1 x Roll of Ribbon or String (For Hanging)

How to Make

1.     Take your ribbon of choice and using a sharp pair of scissors, cut the ribbon into approximately 4 inch pieces.

2.     Once you have around 10 pieces of ribbon, take each individual piece and add to each half of your fillable bauble.

Top tip: when adding your ribbon sections to the bauble, twist each section of ribbon a little before adding it in, this just helps the ribbon to lie nicely in the bauble.

3.     Take each half of the bauble and carefully close together. Take your ribbon or string for hanging and thread through the pre punched hole at the top of the bauble.
