How to Make a Festive Poinsettia Wreath

18 Oct 2019

Have your home feeling like Christmas in no time with this unique Festive Poinsettia Wreath.

If you don’t have the time to create your wreath from scratch, why not consider one of our basic premade wreath frames to act as a base for your creative project.

In this make we use a stunning silvery/grey iron bush wreath as a base and then add pinecones and red berry picks as well as some vibrant poinsettias to finish it off.

Using a premade wreath base saves a lot of time and allows you to focus on the best part, decorating!

Follow along with our easy tutorial to create your very own.

Difficulty:  Easy

Time to Create: 20 minutes

For this make you are going to need the following products:

1 x 48cm Iron Bush Whitewash Wreath

3 x Christmas Pick with Berries and Cone

1 x Small Poinsettia Bush

1 x Scissors

1 x Hot Melt Glue Gun

1 x Hot Melt Glue Sticks

How to Make:

1.     Start by taking each of your three pinecone and berry picks and cut off the end of the excess stem from the pick. Make sure to leave enough of the stem so that you can easily poke this into the wreath base.

2.     Decide how you would like to position the picks onto the wreath. Then take each of the picks and gently poke the stems into the wreath base. Once you are happy with how they are positioned, one by one, remove the picks from the wreath base, apply a thin layer of hot glue to the stem and poke back in the spot you just removed it from. Repeat for all three of the picks.

3.     Next, take the poinsettia bunch and cut the flowers into individual stems. Using your glue gun, carefully add a small amount of hot glue to the back of the flowers and gently press them onto the surface of the wreath. Hold down for a few seconds to help the glue to stick. Repeat this step until you have added the desired number of poinsettias to your wreath.

4.     Turn your wreath onto its front. On the back of the wreath, try to find a sturdy looking branch, this is what we will attach the ribbon on to for hanging. Take your ribbon of choice and cut your desired length of ribbon. The length you choose will all depend on how low you want your wreath to hang.

5.     Loop your ribbon around the branch and secure the two loose ends in a knot.
